Who doesn’t love a weekend exploring local markets ‒ from the sense of community felt at fresh produce markets to the euphoric feeling of finding treasure among the trash. Here are our favourite Inner West markets.
1. Rozelle Collectors Market
Rozelle Market is one of Sydney’s most beloved weekend markets. In the shadows of Rozelle Public School’s historic buildings, stallholders have been selling pre-loved wares here for over 20 years. Get ready to dig through second-hand and vintage clothing, collectibles and jewellery to find your own unique treasure. The market also hosts local musicians and international food stalls, because bargain hunting is always hungry work!
Rozelle Public School, 663 Darling St
2. Glebe Markets
Perhaps Sydney’s most popular market, Glebe Markets is held on the grounds of Glebe Public School every Saturday. There are over 200 stalls to browse, selling everything from homewares and vintage clothing to artwork and jewellery. There’s truly something for everyone. When you’ve worked up an appetite, good luck trying to choose from the amazing selection of food stalls. Enjoy your treats while sitting on the grass listening to only the best live music.

3. Orange Grove Market
Located in Lilyfield and held every Saturday, Orange Grove Market is for those searching for a family-friendly fresh produce market. They believe they have the largest turnover of any fruit and veggie market in Australia, so get in early to secure the gourmet goods. Specialising in certified organic and farm-fresh produce, the markets also offer other fair trade homewares for sale, alongside plants, flowers and handicrafts. There are also famous bacon and egg rolls and Flour and Stone lamingtons to enjoy with a hot cup of coffee, while the kids have fun on the grassy playground and jumping castle.

4. Hillview Produce & Artisan Market
Hillview Farms is dedicated to providing Sydneysiders with only the freshest organic produce direct from farmers. While you can visit their Leichhardt warehouse daily, they also host a produce and artisan market five days a week (8 am to 4 pm Tuesday to Friday and 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday). Meet the Hillview Farms family, as well as farmers and producers selling fresh fruit and vegetables, flowers and other artisanal goods. Hot tips: don’t forget your reusable shopping bags, bring your dog and if you’re a first-time customer, you can browse the stalls with a free takeaway coffee in hand.
